Hello all! Hope everyone has been safe & well. This blog post hopefully won’t be too long, but will provide a bit more detail into why I haven’t been around lately. For starters, make sure you subscribe to the blog to get all the updates. All you have to do is enter your email address on the right. No spam, you’ll only get notified when we post.
Second, as an intro, check out the update video from YouTube below. And please make sure you subscribe there. Your support means the world to us and helps us continue to grow.
So, just to hit upon why I have slowed down a bit.
Work: Work has been crazy for me lately. Most of it has to deal with the weather kind of slowing our system down. It has slowed down a lot of things beyond our industry too. Beyond that though, I just feel like, with other projects, I’ve just had almost no time to edit & upload. Thankfully, however, things are beginning to look up and I have many plans in place to ensure consistent posts & uploads.
The Freezing Fridge: So, one of the biggest issues we have been facing is the fact that it has been so cold. Not just here in Michigan, obviously, but nationwide. The fridge in our garage, where we store most of our beer (including the beer we make) hasn’t been working properly because it has been getting too cold. So, some of our beer has frozen (particularly the lower alcohol beers), including our kegs. This has created some extra logistical work and challenges for us to figure out where to store our beer while still maintaining carbonation and keeping it cold enough. We finally figured it all out and figured out that the lower alcohol beers were targeted. But, this took up a good chunk of my time.
Event Planning: So, when I launched this blog, we were in the early stages of the pandemic and I started it knowing that I would have time to work on it. When I launched our YouTube Channel, I had already received my promotion and knew it would be somewhat difficult to upload consistently. As it turned out, I actually was able to work it out perfectly. However, now something else has come into the picture. I still work in the air show industry…and we are pressing forward with planning events this year. This has been taking up a bit more of my time and I also got approached about starting up a new air show even. More on that later… At any rate, this blog/vlog concept had been on my mind for years, and I’m glad the pandemic convinced me to launch it. #ToTheMoon
Blog/Vlog Planning: Ok, so, obviously planning out content for the blog & vlog takes time. We have so many plans/ideas coming down the pipeline. We’ve been taking the time to plan out what we will post and when. PLUS, we will also be traveling and filming new content. This takes a lot of work with COVID in mind. We want to make sure all of our research is there and that we are completely safe when traveling, for our sake and every one else’s. We won’t really ramp up any travel or anything until more vaccines are in arms and we know that people will be safe. So, that’s why you’ll see a lot of beer reviews and videos that were filmed prior to the pandemic. Of course, we’ll share our plans. We still have to do our 2020 recap and 2021 goals. That is coming soon!
Filming/Editing: So, just because we haven’t been uploading doesn’t mean we haven’t been filming and editing. We have been taking the time to still do all of the above. And you will be able to see them all very soon. We have tons coming down the pipeline. Some examples: 1. How We Brew Our Beer 2. More Beer Reviews (including one featuring a Beer Stooge and another featuring my wife (www.lifeofhayley.com)) 3. Mall of America During the Pandemic 4. A Secret Air Show in GEORGIA (and this will be multiple) 5. Windmill Island Gardens: An Authentic Dutch Windmill in Michigan ……and much more! As always everyone, it takes a lot of work to film/edit videos and to post on the blog. So please, if you can, we ask you to subscribe. It seriously motivates us to continue to create content.
